I often watch livestreams of people who play SC2, to see where they put their effort and focus during hectic moments. I did some testing with livestream earlier today while I was playing SC2 and it hit me that the same stream could be used for dota games. What if we had a few livestreamers who stream when they play (or observing) and explains what they are doing while they are playing? You basically stream your desktop or what's on top. I'd especially like if some cool xp-players were interested in teaching some of the younger fellows here at DP the mechanics of playing cm/cd. It would be awesome if we could see how you play. Microphone is obviously optional!

To understand what I mean I was going to do something similar like this and I need your help. Just a few guys tuning in and giving their opinions and thoughts. I will stream some random stuff now during the day but was aiming for a real test later. I will try to stream stuff around 22CET-ish so keep that time in mind. Quality is not that good, apart from that it seems adequate for pickups needs.

What happened to the waaagh.tv-stream? Couldn't you fix the bugs or why are you going to switch the streaming engine?

Quality can be fixed, when it's not live it's just a video taken from youtube that is on the loop. We are still using WTV streams and will continue to use that for more interesting games, this is only a test - to watch people stream their own gameplay. I for one would like to see some high leveld xp player play and watch his/hers gameplay solo mid or whatever, which is the point of this.

I'll go live later and you can watch the quality then. Higher quality means more bandwidth(upstream) used, don't know how much I can raise it before it starts to lag. Concerning the watermark I'll see what I can do :)

Also, how do i see if its live and not a stored video on repeat :P felt pretty stupid last time i thought it was live xD

perhaps ustream.tv is a better option, its alot more reliable at the moment

should be harder to setup though :/

I have followed a few discussions regarding ustream vs livestream. I've only tested ustream for a brief moment, will do some more testing before I chose one :)
