Something needs to be done about how the bot assigns captains!Earlier today (my third XP game ever) I just typed !add2 minding my own buisness & hoping for a good game. It takes a while, but the game goes up and then I suddenly see I've been assigned as captain. :S
I go like "wtf? I can't be captain I only have 2 games" "someone else be captain instead"
Now, I'm not a bad player. I waited for my 500 games and didn't make an early access request, both games I had previous to this one I had good stats and I won both. But that doesn't mean I'm good enough to play as a captain. Now, I've played CW's alot before comming to pickup (but mostly just with randoms) so teamplay isn't new to me but building lanes instead of combos when picking are new concepts to me and I still got alot to learn.
Over irc when people saw what i typed I just got a few "LoL".
After joining the game I ask 4 times for someone else to be captain! Note: I realy asked 4 times if someone else could be captain since I had such a vague idea didn't of what to do/what to ban/what to pick. I mean, it's like 2 years since I played cm last.
First 3 time snoone answers, 4:th time someone says "np, we help you" and then the game starts.
Bans worked fine, but the nightmare began when picking. Everyone yells diferent heroes and I'm so confused. 1 hero is picked at random when time runs out and everyone wants diferent so we end up with like 4 carrys & lich.
Ofc I know those are crapy picks, but people just kept spamming, pausing and shit like that so i got confused. So for 20 mins before they accept an early ff I gota listen to the entire teams flame (especialy some dude named g0ogle or something like that). Constanly "wtf retarded captain" "omg how can you suck so much" etc. I try to explain that I didn't want to be capt and that these are the heroes they asked for, but people don't want to hear that.
Either how, there's more humiliation comming when the game is over.
First there's an additional of "omfg we had such a retarded capt" over irc for the next 10 mins. Then even more when the win request is upploaded and most of xp have a good lol at me.
All and all, that was a very unpleasant experience.
Side note: I stress again (mostly so you don't put me under surveilance after reading this) that I'm not a bad player. I got 3/4 wins here so far and none has ever complained at me, called me aa noob, said I was a burden, late for fights, bad farm or anything like that (save for this game) and the worst stats I've had (exept for when we got spanked cause of my bad picks) are 7-7-16 with tide.
Now either how, the point of all this is. New xp players should not be forced to play capt. And not beeing able to play a good capt doesn't make you a burden to xp.
My suggestions are:1) You add as capt same way as you add for host like "!add2cpt" or something like that. Then
however wants to can be capt. And if there are several the bot can choose betwen them the same way
it does now. Just a smaler pool.
2) Bot doesn't pick players below a certain game count. Preferebly it should ony count XP games there so it doesn't unfavour people that got early access.
3) make readds available if you have noone capable/willing to play as capt. Preferebly only
the one choosen as capt should be able to demand readd to limmit people asking for readd because of teams.
