"!nextcm" function with sena
«
on:

Hi,
the last few days the Ali-Bot (The bot that handles the !nextcm command) was down.
So i thought it would be better if sena would do his job, here are some reasons for that:
1. Sena got a higher availability
2. Ali-Bot is user based, if the user leaves pickup we dont have such a bot anymore
3. The function should be easy to implement, because sena opens the games anyway
What do you think?

Yeah my computer have been powererd down alite bit more frequently lately, and sometimes I forget to start the bot :)
If anyone have a server with good uptime and wanna host it, send me a PM or something.
Note: it needs .NET to run.

Yes, awesome function, and awful downtime. If the bot can't handle the extra workload, perhaps someone could also re-write the script so it is user-side and you can turn it on and off?

Was really not a big deal thanks to Java. Anyway, the new Bot is named "nextCMBot" and does basically the same as the old one:
!nextcm
:
Gets you a query as soon as the next CM-Game is starting. Querytext will be: "Hi [nick]! A CM game just started and is ready for adding, in #dotapickup.xp"
!stopcm
:
Removes you from the list of nicks that will recieve a message.
Bot tracks nickchanges and automatically removes you from the list when: a) a CM-Game-Add-Phase started or b) when you leave the channel (part/quit).
As a note: Bot gets trigger by Sena[1337] saying "accepted!". If you plan to change that, please let me know Cip!

why dont people just highlight !accept and that's something that will work all the time instead of a bot that might not be up all the time =P

Hey Raytoran,
you know People are just lazy and some are not aware of their mirc functions. And for me personal a bot is obviously more comfy cause it stops qry/highlight you when a cm is set. While the suggested highlight function has to be stopped manually and if i put a highlight into my perform and just idle xp as usual but maybe just wanna play euro with friends all night, i had to stop it also...but maybe there are commands that solve these kind of "problems" as well. In that case just go back to my first sentence ;) I think u can catch my drift easily + the most obvious one: the bot command is shorter :D

@ Flipp: well done. Now i finally know what u guys were talking about in vent last night...or better now i know that it was you who provided the bot.

It woude still be enoying if ur ingame or taking a break, for me anyways.
I only wanna hear when I CM game start if am intrested in playing xp.
And like Flipp said "Was really not a big deal thanks to Java." Same goes for C#, its not alot of work to make a bot such as these with those tools at ur disposal.
Having a computer up 24/7 is the biggest problem really, atleast if u ask me.
