Yes sure. I've played my first and my last game in that channel. It started with one player with epic fails on his computer and couldnt play. None wanted to try a rehost because "only one" couldnt play and they wanted xp-points (someone said something like: "then just ff if you dont wanna play 5v4"). After a time of crap talk we made a rehost. He was still lagging and after a time he lagged out. I think the stats went to something like 22 - 4 and when 19 minutes had past we just didnt give a shit about the xp points, said ff and left, just as someone told us to. It all resulted in that the whole team got a 2 days ban:

* You were kicked from #dotapickup.xp by PickupGuard (Banned: ID: 43482 > pls find me the rule where you are allowed to ff at 19mins. admin ingame: Foadon > duration: 2 day's)

That was the story of my only game in the new xp-channel. I will never come back before it is totally reworked.

We can't satisfy all customers. Whoever doesn't like it is not forced to play. I need people who actually know rules, don't get bans. Not my fault some had screwed connection. And as i said.. not my fault others leave like idiots. And they get banned permanently. And if not will get denied from channel.

This takes time. And people that wanna help. We will purge the bad apples.

The xp u gain/lose is little. Each can recover very fast after bad games. The xp is made so ppl will not get imba strong or megalow on charts. Higher u are, less u gain from noobs. Lower you are, less u lose agains good people. Because it encourage to play with ppl on same level. So don't be afraid to lose vs high xp ppl. They will gain shit.

The idea behind this is good, i'm not really sure that I like to get ranked in a game like dota tho due the fact that I lost both my games yesterday due we met good players and our team in general couldnt hold up against them (even tho I playd really really awesome, atleast one of the games).

My point being that this will result that 3-5 teams will join and beat the other side (like yesterday, both games were 4+1 vs 1+1+1+1+1, even tho I got declied twice to be in the same team as my mate 69ORGI)
But it's a nice idea to draw people to the channel, and if it works I think it's totally worth it, but only if this stats thing wont be taken to seriously, it's just a fun feauture, nothing more due teams/teammates > individual skill

MrMojo, my mIRC name is abooW, and I know that you know who I am. Dotapickup.xp and dotapickup.sprd is the only channels i use (atleast while playing alone). So I cant understand the argue about that people just pop up and whine, I've played some really nice xp games before the channel got reworked. Honestly, if you read my quote from the game I played, do you think it sounds like a good system?

Don't missunderstand me, I really admire cip for his work, but i don't think a xp-system is going to work. That was the reason i stopped playing dota-league.

Regarding your issue @the xp game. Where does it say you can FF @ 19minutes?
Wether it is euro, sprd or xp, you cant FF at 19 minutes, so that realy cant be a valid argument against xp.

Yes, the new xp system might encourage people to play a bit more "aggressive" and try to get these xp points.
But after all, this is dotapickup.xp
Its not meant to be a league in a kind, but this kind of feature only helps the channel in a lot of way.
a) You obviously have more xp games
b) It encourage people to give their best

Thus we can experience overall more quality games and im sorry, if you had this bad experience.
All i can suggest you is, try it again, and never leave again with the reason FF at 19 minutes.

I don't think this will improve the games. I have played some time at dotainvite. I had some really nice games there but then they introduced the ladder system. You had to upload the relay and the bot extracted all information to calculate the XP you get. That's the point where everything became worse.
People started to pick only certain heroes which are suitable for getting more XP, e.g. no one wanted pick Roof anymore because he is a bad farmer and you can't get any early game kills. Every action ingame was somehow related to the XP outcome on the end of the game. I don't like this attitude. It destroys the spirit of each game.

In my opinion there is only one way this might work. Hide the ladder. There is no reason why we should see how much XP you and others have. If we don't see on which position we are there is less competitive environment in the same team.

T3rm1, your points are definitely worth being considered.
I partly agree with it. Xp games definitely have been changed since new feature, its more competitive, but we have 2 other channels where this is not the case.

But i am sure that Cip was thinking about the influence the feature could have on the people/game.
You cant "hunt" points with his system, if you have too many points -> you wont get any, but you will lose A LOT if you actually lose the game. It would be a mircale if someone would reach more than 1300 points
That is the difference to other leagues/systems etc.

Xp was competitive before the feature already, just the way of having this competition changed.
