Dear dp,

from today on our old and beloved xp channel will change the game, it's finally time for DotA2!


There are some changes for the channel, please take care of them:

• for rule changes look here
  
• the standard mode is -cm
• you dont need 25 games for XP early access anymore
• for the hosting and joining part watch this thread
  
• note that at the moment you still have to be normal member of pickup, thus you still need the validation (might sound crazy, we are working to fix that)

Dear dp,

We are happy to tell you that we will hand out more invites for our beloved users. There will be several contests to win one of them, you either need some luck or creativity. Here is a list of all of our contests:

• Draw a staffmember: Show us your creativity by drawing a staffmember - or a group if you like to. It doesnt matter which program (or even by hand) you´re using - though it DOES matter that it is NOT offending in ANY way. It can be a comic or a poster, or or or [...]. Any abuses will result in an irc ban. Upload your pictures in  this thread
  

• Join #dota2pickup.euro: On sunday, 11th of december at 20:00 CET one lucky person in our channel #dota2pickup.euro will be randomed to win the invite. Make sure you arent afk at that time

• Join our steam group: Everything you have to do is join our group via steam. It can be found here

All contests end on next sunday 11th of december at 20:00 CET. If you got already an invite and you will be randomed to be the winner, you are free to choose another email/user, that will be invited. Good luck!

as promised a while ago we were searching for alternative prizes for XP-Season 4.
Now we were able to get in charge of some Dota2-Keys (sponsored by IceFrog, Dota2.com)



And those keys will be shared within our community!

We are currently discussing about doing some major changes to dp for the launch of DotA 2.
Since we are only a few people with limited time we'd like to ask for your assistance. We are in the need
of a design for a brand new page. Some guidelines to have in mind when doing this;

Edit: We are discussing a completely new page and not a forum. This is why we need assistance with the design.
The page must contain the following:

• A login feature menu
• sidebar
• place for advertisement.
• There should be a navigation which can be easy extended (No special different Buttons for each topic)

If you have any skills regarding design/layouts your help will be much appreciated.

We would like to welcome and congratulate two new members to our admin crew. Trusted Players Fallingdown and Beleidiger have been promoted to admins. Due to their hard input into this community, shown activity and hard dedication they proved to be worthy of being promoted. Hopefully they will raise the admin activity a bit and continue doing a good job.

Dear dp members,


It has come to our attention that banned or no longer active users are playing here at dp. Evaders get help from currently active users who add for a game and then simply let evaders join with a similar nick. This ofcourse cannot be tolerated. It is very simple for us to find out which users have been doing this. The reason why we announce this information is because we want you to be able to quit helping evaders before we start handing out bans.

This is probably not much of surprise to you all since most of you know what and who we are talking about. We already have a few people we know have been adding for others. We could've already banned people but it's not more than fair to give users the option to cease actions like this by themselves. We cannot urge people enough to stop this. So, our final warning, stop or you will get banned.

We, your awesome and handsome dp crew, thought it'd be fun to let the community test their skills against the people who ban them. If you are tired of getting manhandled by certain people all the time, don't miss out on this one-timed chance. You will get the chance to bash the crew, humiliate and rip them apart while the community is watching. Below you will find a riddle. That riddle has an answer. That answer leads to a password protected channel, named #dotapickup.riddle. At 13:00 sunday the 3rd of July we will publish the riddle, remove invite only, put the riddle-password and let the first five people who join the channel play versus the crew. We assure that the riddle is totally solveable, you won't be forced to lie awake at night trying to solve this riddle. You can ofcourse team up with friends and try to solve our riddle, but the more people who know the password the less chance is it that just you will get the chance to play.
